Temporary lanes are now in play for the next few months, and the SH29 → 15th Ave off‑ramp is closed until 2026.

Pāpāmoa East Interchange – The Big Push

Night closures continue as contractors hustle to get this thing over the line.

Morning traffic? A little hungover.

Crews are installing wire rope barriers and resurfacing sections.

Where the Bus Gremlins Will Strike

👉Takitimu North Link / SH29–SH2

Temporary lanes, detours, and enough cones to start a small orange army. Buses from Bethlehem, Tauriko, and Kaimai could be 5–15 minutes behind, depending on how many drivers forget how merging works.

👉Pāpāmoa East Interchange

Night works don’t hit the buses directly, but the morning-after traffic hangover definitely does. Expect delays for Pāpāmoa East, Golden Sands, and Te Tumu routes — especially on rainy days when everyone panics and drives like it’s their first time.

👉Tauranga Eastern Link (SH2)
Barrier works + surface works = stop–start chaos.
Buses between Te Puke, Pāpāmoa, and the Mount may take the scenic route… unintentionally.

What Parents Should Actually Do

•     Add 10 minutes to your morning expectations.
•     Don’t panic if the bus is late — it’s not lost, it’s just Tauranga.
•     Keep an eye on school alerts, because they’ll know before Waka Kotahi does.
